How To Sow –
Sow seeds on 15–20 cm raised nursery beds. Use 400g of seed in a 2 marla nursery area to prepare seedlings for one acre. After 4–6 weeks, transplant the seedlings with 30 cm spacing between plants and 45 cm between rows. Irrigate immediately after transplanting and then weekly.

Lettuce prefers a cool climate (ideal temperature: 13–16°C).

Grows best in sandy loam or silt loam soils.

Harvest starts 45 days after sowing; green leaves can be harvested weekly from November to March.

Stop harvesting by March-end; seed production starts by April, with 50 kg seed yield per acre.

Lettuce is self-pollinated; maintain 10m isolation for seed purity.

Avoid early harvesting of seed stalks to maintain germination quality.
