TEAK SAGVAN – सागवान (10 Seed)

Steps to germinate teak wood seeds:

1) Soaking:

Seeds are immersed in cold water for 10-15 days or alternate soaking and drying for 48 hours each.

2) Scarification:

The pericarp (outer layer of the seed) can be scarified to break dormancy.

3) Germination:

Germination time: 10-35 days after sowing.
Factors affecting germination: Fruit size, climate, and seed quality.

4) Germination rate: Typically 50-70%.

5) Optimal conditions:

Well-drained loamy or sandy soil and a temperature of 25-35°C.
